This kind of reminds me of my hometown. The Church Hill Tunnel. Collapsed on a train in...1925 or 6, something like that and the city just closed it off and left the train and the deceased inside. Supposedly it’s haunted now... Spoooky.

Pretty crazy! Would love to see them restore it, at least for display, but that cost would probably be ridiculous.

Amazing how it’s held up as good as it did sitting IN water for 93 years...

From what I’ve heard, mud can sometimes actually preserve buried vehicles. There have been cases of people unearthing buried vehicles from mud and finding them to be in remarkably good condition, although of course it’s just as likely that they’ll be a rotted mess. It really depends on the exact conditions of the specific spot, I guess.

Yup, I watch a few Youtube channels from Russia where some official folks from the Russian military travel to old WWII battlegrounds to look for the remains of Red Army servicemen that were never recovered. Some of them are in swampy areas and the ammunition, weapons, etc they pull out of the swaps are in crazy condition...this video has some good examples:
